Scripture
Luke 11:23 - "This is war, and there is no neutral ground. If you're not on my side, you're the enemy; if you're not helping, your making things worse.
Observation & Application
Developing our relationship with Christ requires active, intentional work. It is like paddling upstream. You must keep paddling to keep moving forward. The moment you stop paddling you are moving the wrong way.
There is no neutral ground. We're either helping or hurting.
We're either growing toward Christ or we aren't. Sometimes I wonder if we think paddling along at an almost neutral rate is OK. From this passage...I don't think so. Paddle faster.
None of us likes to hear absolutes like this. Our lives are complex and we are too busy - and we know we should be shedding more and more of the world's rags, by putting on more of the garments of Christ. But we tend to let the things that matter get in the way, and become content in our rags because at least we're clothed. God calls us to change clothes.
Father, help me to give up my rags.
